Strategic Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Effectiveness at The Citadel encompasses several areas of responsibility, which are described below.

Strategic Planning

  • Developing, implementing, and assessing the College’s strategic plan, the Blueprint

Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness

  • Conducting national surveys of students, faculty, and staff
  • Analyzing and interpreting survey data and integrating results into campus decision making
  • Coordinating institutional, program, and general education assessment activities
  • Assisting academic and administrative campus units with assessment activities and the Accountability Management System (AMS)
  • Facilitating workshops, presentations, and discussion groups to foster the use of data in continuous improvement efforts
  • Administering the college’s undergraduate E-Leadership Portfolio program
  • Faculty Analysis and Assessment Team

Accreditation

  • Leading the school-wide, regional SACS re-accreditation and Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) efforts
  • Assisting academic units with program-specific accreditation

Institutional Research

  • Serving as a comprehensive source of information about The Citadel
  • Providing data for institutional decision making and to support the College's strategic planning, assessment and accreditation processes
  • Collecting, analyzing and submitting state, federal, and other governing body academic reporting
  • Providing data to external audiences for Citadel inclusion in college guides, salary studies and other information requests
  • Administering The Citadel's Operational Data Store, Enterprise Data Warehouse and Cognos Reporting Tool
  • Conducting training and workshops for Citadel personnel to assist their efforts in data extraction and report writing
  • Developing and analyzing internal surveys of faculty, staff, students and alumni as well as the Institution's course evaluations of instruction
  • Maintaining an informative web site with College data and publishing an Annual Fact Book
  • Maintaining memberships in advisory committees at both the state and institution level as well as professional memberships
